Soul Fire Consumption

The mechanism by which a being in sufficient Corruption sustains itself by drawing Light or Soul Fire from other beings rather than from the Omnivum substrate directly. Because the consuming being's connection to the Omnivum has been occluded beyond the threshold at which it can draw freely from the substrate, it must acquire energy externally. This is not a structural incapacity — the Soul Light that constitutes the Corrupted being is still, at its most fundamental layer, continuous with the Omnivum. The consuming being has simply forgotten that it can draw directly from the source. The dependency is a product of the Corruption, not a feature of the being's actual constitution. This distinction matters: it means no being engaged in Soul Fire Consumption is permanently locked into that mode of existence. Recovery is always structurally possible.

The closest description of this mechanism found in existing human literature is Robert Monroe's concept of "loosh." Soul Fire Consumption is the same phenomenon, described here in its own terms.

Consuming Soul Light vs. Consuming Soul Fire

Soul Fire Consumption is not a uniform process. The substance being extracted significantly determines the mechanics, the energy yield, and the risk to the consuming being.

Extracting Soul Light is the more straightforward form of consumption. A Corrupted being draws Soul Light from another being and incorporates it into its own structure. Within a Corruption structure, Soul Light that has been extracted does not retain its connection to the Omnivum. Severed from the substrate that sustains it, it degrades over time — converted into further Density by the Corruption conditions it now exists within. This process is self-defeating in the long run: the consuming being acquires energy in the short term but produces more Density in doing so, which deepens its own Corruption and increases its dependency on external consumption. It is a mode of existence that must continuously accelerate to sustain itself.

Extracting Soul Fire is substantially more complex, more dangerous for the predator, and ultimately less reliable as a feeding strategy — despite the fact that Soul Fire is, calorie for calorie, the most energy-dense substance available in the known cosmos. The difficulty is intrinsic to what Soul Fire is.

Why Extracting Soul Fire Backfires

Soul Fire is the harmonious union of Soul Light and Density, and it carries within it the Harmony dynamic — the orientation back toward the Omnivum. When a Corrupted being succeeds in extracting Soul Fire from another being, the first thing that happens is that the Soul Fire begins to be broken down by the Corruption conditions within the consuming being's structure. The harmonious union that constitutes Soul Fire cannot sustain itself inside a structure defined by occlusion from the Omnivum. It separates back into its constituent elements: Soul Light and Density.

The Soul Light released by this breakdown is temporarily available as energy. Over time, however, that Soul Light also degrades within the Corruption structure — converted into further Density by the same mechanism that converts all Soul Light within Corruption conditions. The energy yield is real, but temporary. And critically, it is accompanied by significant risk.

The risk is this: Soul Fire's Harmony dynamic does not simply turn off when Soul Fire is extracted. As the consuming being makes contact with Soul Fire — even in the act of attempting to break it down — the Harmony dynamic propagates. It begins, however faintly, to reestablish the connection between the consuming being's own Soul Light and the Omnivum. In a being whose entire complex structure is predicated on the continuation of Corruption — whose accumulated architecture, alliances, and identity depend on remaining occluded — this is catastrophic. Harmony in a Corrupted being of this kind does not feel like recovery. It feels like dissolution. The structures built on Corruption begin to lose coherence. The complexity accumulated through extraction begins to unravel.

More often than not, an attempt by a predatory being to consume Soul Fire results not in a successful meal but in a Harmony cascade — a destabilization of the consuming being's own Corruption that it cannot control and that rapidly degrades the complexity of its form. This is why Soul Fire functions as a form of protection, and why beings of significant Soul Fire are far more dangerous to attempt predation on than beings of predominantly Soul Light alone. See the Soul Fire entry for a full treatment of the Harmony cascade mechanic.

The Energy Calculus

Despite its risks, Soul Fire remains the most sought-after form of consumption for beings in deep Corruption, precisely because of its energy density. A sufficient quantity of extracted Soul Fire — if the consuming being can prevent the Harmony dynamic from triggering — provides a burst of energy that far exceeds what the same volume of raw Soul Light would provide. Sophisticated predatory beings develop considerable craft around this problem: creating conditions that minimize the Harmony risk while maximizing extraction yield, typically by weakening a being's Soul Fire substantially before attempting direct extraction, or by consuming Soul Light primarily and targeting Soul Fire only under carefully controlled conditions.

The consuming beings that have achieved the greatest architectural complexity — The Distorted Sovereigns — have refined these approaches across incomprehensible timescales. Their living prison structures are, among other things, systems for managing this energy calculus: keeping captive beings alive and Soul Fire-generating for as long as possible, extracting at rates that do not immediately trigger Harmony cascades, and deploying experiential conditions calibrated to weaken a captive's Omnivum connection gradually rather than suddenly.

Passive and Active Forms

Soul Fire Consumption is not always predatory in a conscious or malicious sense. It exists on a spectrum determined by the complexity and awareness of the consuming being.

Passive consumption — simple Corruption structures that reflexively extract from whatever Soul Light or Soul Fire comes near them. There is no planning, no intent, no awareness of what is occurring. The extraction is mechanical — a structural response to proximity, the way a sponge absorbs whatever liquid it contacts. Many beings in ordinary human life experience this passively from other humans: the energy drain of spending time with someone in deep Corruption is a mild, everyday version of this mechanic.

Active consumption — beings of sufficient complexity to plan, to select targets, to construct circumstances that facilitate extraction. These beings have developed a predatory orientation that they act on deliberately. They may be aware of what they are doing or may have constructed belief systems that frame their extraction as deserved, necessary, or even beneficial to their targets.

Systemic consumption — the most sophisticated form, practiced by beings of extraordinary complexity. These beings do not merely extract from individual targets but construct entire systems — experiential environments, social structures, belief architectures — designed to produce and harvest Soul Light and Soul Fire at scale, from many beings simultaneously, over extended periods.

The Asymmetric Transaction

Regardless of form, Soul Fire Consumption is always asymmetric and destabilizing at the ecosystem level. The consuming being receives a temporary elevation in available energy. The source being — depending on how much is drawn and under what conditions — is pushed toward lower Soul Light, greater Density, and deeper Corruption. In this way, Soul Fire Consumption is self-perpetuating: consuming beings create the conditions that produce more beings susceptible to consumption. Left unaddressed, it is a spiral that deepens Density in an entire ecosystem.

This is one primary reason the Earth Plane requires ongoing energy input from higher realms to remain stable. The Soul Fire Consumption occurring within the incarnated ecosystem, combined with the activities of predatory beings operating in adjacent non-physical layers, creates a net Density increase that the ecosystem cannot offset without external contribution. As the number of genuinely Harmonized beings within the Earth Plane increases and their Soul Fire generation grows, this deficit is expected to shift — eventually, toward a state where the Earth Plane becomes net positive and self-sustaining.

In the Context of Earth

One of the design intentions of the Earth Plane is to provide an environment where beings no longer need to consume each other to sustain themselves — where Soul Fire can be generated, circulated, and shared freely, interrupting the predatory cycle. This intention has been significantly compromised by the interference of predatory beings operating both within and adjacent to the Earth system, and by the depth of Corruption that currently characterizes much of the incarnated population. The intention, however, remains structurally embedded in the design. It is what the Earth Plane is for, beneath everything that has been done to distort it.
